Time for a Tiara...

Hello Friends, sometimes all we really need is a tiara and we can take on the world. Or our little part of the world. Well, that is not the hardest thing to do and let's face it, a tiara makes everything look better. And everyone...

Okay I will admit, Princess Kate is so stunning a tiara is simply frosting on the cake...still, she does wear it well...

So do the Queen's beloved Corgis...

Piepie feels she is so darn cute she does not need a tiara...well, maybe not...

It goes without saying I have tiaras for sale. True. Most are 59.99 and of course I can ship them to you. Just call me 309-370-4507 or email me jackiegillam@frontier.com.

Maybe you are having a non glam day and simply want to shut out the world...well, wearing your tiara might be the answer...go for it.

Or easiest of all, why not make some tiara cookies. Seems to me this would be the best of all worlds...

Tiara Cookies Recipe:

3 cups flour

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup sugar (white)

1 cup butter

1 egg

preheat oven to 350.

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and and to butter/egg mixture. Mix until all is incorporated and the dough comes together.

Prepare your cookie sheet with parchment or a silpat for ease of removing and to make sure your cookies do not over bake on the bottoms.

I like to roll my dough out between layers of parchment paper so I am not working more flour into the dough (and making them tough).

Cut out with your favorite cutter, hopefully it is shaped like a tiara.

Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes until just slightly brown around the edges. You really want them pale. If you want thick thick cookies (and some days the whole thing goes faster if you go thicker) keep an eye on them in the oven, they may need a little more time. If you want thin crisp cookies, also keep an eye. Just depends on your mood and how much time you have or how anxious you are for cookies.

If you do not have time for frosting (and there are days that is the case) press sprinkles or sanded sugar onto the cookies before baking.

Other wise cool baked cookies, frost with Royal frosting made from one egg white and enough powdered sugar to make the frosting semi stiff. If you make it a little runny, you can dip your cookies for that glazed look. Tint accordingly after you decide how thick your frosting will be. If you make your frosting thick and when you spread it, the frosting looks a little sloppy, simply add sprinkles .

Sprinkles as we all know, make everything a little better.

Let cookies set and enjoy with a cup of tea.

By this time you probably need caffeine. May I suggest Yorkshire Gold? The one the Queen drinks.

Cheers, until next time. Remember you can sun bath or hoover in your tiara.
