Welcome Princess Charlotte

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have broken royal tradition by announcing the birth on Twitter.

Doctors at Lindo Wing, the private maternity ward at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, were thrilled to announce the successful delivery. Both mother and daughter are well.

This is the second child for the pair, who were happy to share their fourth wedding anniversary (April 29)with their newborn baby girl.

Royal fans celebrate the arrival of baby 'Charlotte'.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, delivered Charlotte to the world at 8:40am London time, 29th April 2015.

The delivery has taken place at the private Indo Wing of the hospitao, the same place where the Duchess's first child 'Prince George' was born in 2013.

Prince Harry was disappointed with having to miss the birth of his new niece. Royal sources say that Harrry contacted the Duke by phoe while on a plane to Australia whee he is scheduled to visit army units in Perth and Sydney.

Four days overdue with her second child, the Duchess of Cambridge was induced. As expected, the delivery was a simple procedure without any complications.

The Duke and Duchess are elated and extremely proud of the new addition to their family.

The Duke was hoping for a baby daughter. Now he has Charlotte.
